Nelson Sailing Center is a family owned and operated facility. Our dedication to sailing began in 1965 with the creation of Nelson Marine Basin. We are a unique hybrid of a full service marina and an American Sailing Association (ASA) Sailing School with a rental fleet of over 30 boats.  This gives us the ability to nurture the novice sailor to become a seasoned keelboat owner.  Having served the needs of both racing and cruising sailors for over 30 years has given us experience our customers have come to rely on. Sailing has many alluring qualities. It’s challenging and exciting, but most of all, sailing is fun. We believe that having fun is the most important facet of sailing. However, without the proper training, a day on the water can become dangerous. This is where the ASA plays an important roll. The ASA is the largest nationwide association of sailors, sailing instructors, charter fleets and sailing schools. The ASA has brought organization and a professional set of standards to the sailing industry, standards which are internationally recognized. ASA certification provides documentation of an individual's achievement and is recognized by many national authorities, including the U.S. Coast Guard.
