Description:
Beamy, light, and low-slung: this is today's formula for speed
in a sailboat. The beam gives it the ability to sail level
in a brisk breeze. The beam also gives it the wide/flat underwater
surfaces for planing. Combine that with the light weight that comes
form modern materials and modern construction techniques, and you have
a boat that will outperform 95% of the sailboats on the bay. It features
the speed and agility of a J24, but with more comfort and amenities.
If, like many Nelson customers, you wish to try out a variety of designs -- possibly with an eye toward a future purchase -- put this one on your list. It represents the performance end of the mid-20s cabin boats. It would make a good racer or a speedy day sailer, and it would still be a decent boat for overnight cruises for a small, young family.
