Description:
The O'day name is one of the most recognized and respected in sailing.
George O'day was an olympic sailing champion who went on to major success
in boatbuilding. The O'days, like the Catalinas, draw admiring glances
and are considered good looking. Besides their visual appeal, they
feature solid construction, which helps explain why there are so many Odays
on the water (they stopped making them 10 years ago and yet they are one
of the most commonly seen boats on the east coast). What is more,
the Odays were among the first boats to seriously apply the term "human
engineering" -- ease of operation, access to storage, and the like are
rated high on the Oday. Rodney, Nelson's yard manager and all-around
boat expert, favors the Oday and considers them very good boats.
Suited for daysailing with 4 and short-term cruising.
