Description:
This is our larger offering from the O'Day line. Good looks,
quality construction, and efficient and reliable sailing qualities mark
this popular model. O'Day, like numerous other sailboat makers, "fell
by the wayside" some dozen years ago. But it seems nearly every one
is still in service, and still getting admiring looks and comments.
Such is the legacy of George O'Day, who, it is said, cared so much for
quality that he failed to keep his costs in line and couldn't make an adequate
profit to stay in business. Gordon (the boss), Rodney (the yard manager),
and (instructor) Bob will all attest to the excellent qualities of the
O'Day sailboat.
This one is in great shape, has room for weekend cruising, and is a pleasure to sail. It is a great boat for the bay, having adequate seaworthiness and plenty of speed. When you are in an O'Day, you don't get passed very often.
